Lesson 6 - Prepositions

Prepositions are words that introduce a phrase that gives more information to a sentence.

i bos

in the box
uover borda under the table
til hus to the house
fe :sara for Sara
vi gastahus at the hotel
na tim tie at ten o'clock

vi is useful when referring to a location. It gives no specific information like in, on, or next to, but it can be used for any of these. Often translated as at, just think of it as relating to the location specified, but in no specific way.

du kan kepa da vi kepahus.
You can buy that at the store.

Even more general is na which can essentially take the place of any preposition. It's meaning relies completely on context. It is especially useful for phrases that are abstract, and would not logically dictate a specific meaningful preposition.

ka du tru na gude?
Do you believe in a god?

je juste te tenka na du.
I was just thinking of you.

jen ska go til dasta na nes daga.
We'll go there tomorrow.
